The state government had instructed all the employees to appear on duty on Tuesday (July 7th) on Monday (July 6th) and warned them to take strict disciplinary action against those people and cut the wages, which were passed by the MESMA (Maharashtra Mandatory Services Maintenance Act) Will fail to comply with their duties. It was also announced that 1,50,000 gazetted officers who will be withdrawn from this three-day strike will be paid a dearness allowance (DA) of 14 months.
At the same time, an official of the Maharashtra State Employees Association (MSEO) said that all the workers till the level of taluka have joined the movement. The MSO had accused the State Government of implementing the recommendations of the seventh Pay Commission effective from January 1, 2016.

The main demands of the strikers include scheduling five days a week in all government offices, increasing the age of retirement from 58 years to 60 years and recruitment on more than 2,00,000 vacancies in the state.
